Happy Retirement, Mrs Borlase!
The whole school came together in assembly on Thursday to say goodbye to Mrs Borlase, who is retiring after 16 years as St John’s wonderful Head Teacher. All the different year groups expressed their love and gratitude to Mrs Borlase in different ways, including songs, poems and dance. Year 2 pupils told us their dreams for Mrs Borlase in her retirement - including living in a pyramid in Egypt and becoming a pop star! Year 4 spoke for everyone when they said: “Even though you’re going away, your ideas are here to stay!”
Mrs Borlase told the pupils how proud she had been, every day, to be the Head Teacher at St John’s. “We named all our classes after precious stones, because every single one of you is precious,” she said. “You are the future of the world. What a wonderful assembly. Thank you so much, children! You will be forever in my heart.”
